Nineteen windmills in all, formerly used to drain the fields and pump the water up about 50 feet into the Rhein River. Now they are required to be kept in working order in case of drastic power failure, they are just used periodically to keep them in working order. All but one are inhabited by families, the one being kept empty for tourists to see how the windmills work.
